Why Does Perfume Oil Irritate My Skin?

Why can perfume irritate skin? Learn why fragrance reactions vary, how to start cautiously and when you should stop using a product.

People can respond differently to fragrance.

A product that causes no problem for one person may irritate another, and even the same person can react differently to different fragrance formulas.

FDA notes that some people experience sensitivities or allergies to fragrance ingredients.

That is why Lily Essences recommends starting a new fragrance with one light pass on a small area.

If irritation appears, stop using it.

Anyone with a known fragrance allergy, fragrance-triggered asthma or medical skin condition should be particularly cautious and consult a healthcare professional when appropriate.

Perfume is supposed to be enjoyable. Your skin gets a vote too.
