“Natural” sounds appealing, but it does not automatically mean better, safer or higher quality.
Natural fragrance materials can cause sensitivities too, and synthetic fragrance materials are widely used in modern perfumery.
The more useful question is whether the finished fragrance is appropriate for its intended use and whether you actually enjoy wearing it. FDA also notes that products marketed as “essential oils” may be regulated differently depending on how they are intended to be used.
For shoppers, look beyond one ingredient buzzword.
Pay attention to the finished scent, labeling, directions, how the product performs and how your skin responds.
Perfume is a complete product—not one marketing adjective.
