You do not need to know every technical perfume word before you can become a useful fragrance reviewer.
Start by smelling different fragrance families and learning how to explain what you notice.
Instead of stopping at “I like it,” ask yourself what makes you like it. Does it feel fresh, creamy, sweet, woody, spicy, clean or warm? Does the scent change after it sits on your skin? When would you wear it?
Always test fragrance on skin when possible because the experience can be different from simply smelling the bottle.
Most importantly, be honest.
A good fragrance reviewer does not tell everyone what they are supposed to love. They explain their own experience clearly enough that someone else can decide whether the fragrance sounds right for them.
