DIY Perfume Oils: Should You Make Your Own at Home?

Thinking about making perfume oil at home? Learn why personal experimentation is different from creating finished fragrance products for others.

Making fragrance for yourself can be an interesting hobby.

But making a wearable product is more complicated than simply mixing anything that smells good together.

Ingredients need to be appropriate for their intended use, and creating products for sale introduces additional questions involving safety, labeling and applicable cosmetic requirements.

There is also an important difference between raw perfume-making materials and a finished roll-on perfume.

Lily Essences sells finished, ready-to-wear personal fragrances. It does not sell raw fragrance oils or essential oils for DIY perfume making.

If you simply want to wear perfume, buying a finished fragrance is the much easier option.
